ABD \u0130stanbul Ba\u015fkonsolosu Jeniffer L. Davies, Edirne ziyaretinde Mimar Sinan\u2019\u0131n \u2018ustal\u0131k eserim\u2019 dedi\u011fi T\u00fcrk-\u0130slam mimarisinin zirvesi Selimiye Camii\u2019ne ve \u2018ters lalenin\u2019 gizemine hayran kald\u0131.<\/p>\n

Bir dizi ziyarette bulunmak \u00fczere Edirne\u2019ye gelen Davies, ilk olarak 2015 y\u0131l\u0131nda restore edilerek ibadete a\u00e7\u0131lan Avrupa\u2019n\u0131n en b\u00fcy\u00fck sinagogu olan Edirne B\u00fcy\u00fck Sinagogu\u2019nu ziyaret etti. Sinagog ile ilgili bilgiler alan Davies, m\u00fc\u015ftemilat\u0131nda bulunan Edirne\u2019ye \u00f6zg\u00fc el sanatlar\u0131n\u0131 ve K\u0131rkp\u0131nar Ya\u011fl\u0131 G\u00fcre\u015fleri\u2019nde giyilen pehlivan kispetini inceledi.<\/p>\n

Sinagogda bas\u0131n mensuplar\u0131na k\u0131sa bir a\u00e7\u0131klamada bulunan Davies, Edirne\u2019de olmaktan \u00e7ok mutlu oldu\u011funu ifade ederek, “\u00d6zellikle Mimar Sinan\u2019a ve ustal\u0131k eseri Selimiye\u2019yi bir an \u00f6nce g\u00f6rmek i\u00e7in sab\u0131rs\u0131zlan\u0131yorum. Bu g\u00fczel \u015fehirde olmaktan b\u00fcy\u00fck mutluluk duyuyorum. Selimiye\u2019yi \u00e7ok merak ediyorum, Sinan\u2019\u0131n b\u00fcy\u00fck bir hayran\u0131y\u0131m \u00f6te yandan bu g\u00fczel \u015fehrin g\u00fczelliklerini gezmeyi d\u00f6rt g\u00f6zle bekliyorum. Burada en \u00e7ok dikkatimi \u00e7eken ve beni en \u00e7ok etkileyen \u015fey 3 b\u00fcy\u00fck dinin bu \u015fehirde bar\u0131\u015f i\u00e7erisinde ya\u015f\u0131yor olmas\u0131. Bu sinagogun da Osmanl\u0131 \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu\u2019nun burada bu bar\u0131\u015f\u0131 ya\u015fatan en g\u00fczel \u00f6rneklerin biri oldu\u011funu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyorum” dedi.<\/p>\n

Davies, sinagog ziyaretinin ard\u0131ndan UNESCO D\u00fcnya K\u00fclt\u00fcr Miras\u0131 Listesi\u2019nde yer alan T\u00fcrk-\u0130slam mimarisinin mihenk ta\u015f\u0131, e\u015fsiz mabet Selimiye Camii\u2019ni ziyaret etti. Yan\u0131nda getirdi\u011fi t\u00fclbent ile ba\u015f\u0131n\u0131 kapatan Davies, cami g\u00f6revlilerinden yap\u0131m tarihi ile ilgili bilgiler ald\u0131. Rivayetlerle g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze kadar yans\u0131yan \u2018ters lale\u2019nin gizemini dikkatle dinleyen Davies, caminin kubbesinden ve motiflerinden bir an olsun g\u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fc alamad\u0131.
