Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Uzman\u0131 Prof. Dr. Dervi\u015f Mansuri Y\u0131lmaz, epilepsi cerrahisi sonras\u0131nda hastalar\u0131n y\u00fczde 90\u2019\u0131nda epilepsi n\u00f6betlerinin son buldu\u011funu, geri kalan hastalar\u0131n da ge\u00e7irdi\u011fi n\u00f6betlerin yar\u0131 yar\u0131ya azald\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yledi.<\/p>\n
\u00d6zel Adana Ortado\u011fu Hastanesi Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Uzman\u0131 Prof. Dr. Dervi\u015f Mansuri Y\u0131lmaz, epilepsinin beyindeki h\u00fccrelerin anormal elektriksel aktivitesi sonucu olan klinik bir tablo oldu\u011funu belirterek, \u201cEpilepsi antiepileptik ila\u00e7larla tedavi ediliyor. Fakat hastalar zamanla bu ila\u00e7lar\u0131 yan etkileri nedeniyle yeterli dozda alamad\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in n\u00f6betleri de istenildi\u011fi d\u00fczeyde kontrol alt\u0131na al\u0131nam\u0131yor. T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de say\u0131lar\u0131 1 milyona yakla\u015fan epilepsi hastalar\u0131n\u0131n yakla\u015f\u0131k y\u00fczde 30\u2019u ila\u00e7 tedavisinden fayda g\u00f6rm\u00fcyor\u201d dedi.<\/p>\n
Bug\u00fcne kadar tedavi edilemeyen hastalar\u0131n art\u0131k yeni bir tedavi imkan\u0131na sahip oldu\u011funun alt\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7izen Prof. Dr. Dervi\u015f Mansuri Y\u0131lmaz, \u201cVagal Sinir Stim\u00fclat\u00f6r Uygulamas\u0131 (VNS) y\u00f6nteminde, sol k\u00f6pr\u00fcc\u00fck kemi\u011fi alt\u0131na bir pil tak\u0131l\u0131yor ve hastan\u0131n elinde de gerekti\u011finde sistemi \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131racak bir m\u0131knat\u0131s bulunuyor. Hasta n\u00f6betin gelece\u011fini hissetti\u011finde elindeki m\u0131knat\u0131s ile pile dokunarak pilin \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011fl\u0131yor. Pil \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131nca beyne giden uyar\u0131lar sayesinde, kendi kendine \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya e\u011filimli h\u00fccreleri daha kontroll\u00fc \u015fekilde \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131rarak n\u00f6betin durmas\u0131 sa\u011flan\u0131yor\u201d dedi<\/p>\n

Epilepsi pili VNS\u2019nin ameliyathane \u015fartlar\u0131nda tak\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 ifade eden Y\u0131lmaz, \u201cHastalar\u0131m\u0131z ameliyat sonras\u0131 bir g\u00fcn hastanede kal\u0131yorlar. Belirli periyotlarla pilin \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma g\u00fcc\u00fcn\u00fc denetliyor ve d\u00fczenliyoruz\u201d ifadesini kulland\u0131.<\/p>\n

\u201cUygun olan hastalarda ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirdi\u011fimiz epilepsi pili ameliyat\u0131 sonras\u0131nda, hastalar\u0131n y\u00fczde 90\u2019\u0131 n\u00f6betlerden kurtuluyor. Geriye kalan y\u00fczde 5-10\u2019luk dilimdeki hastalar\u0131n epilepsi n\u00f6betlerinde ise yar\u0131 yar\u0131ya olumlu bir d\u00fc\u015f\u00fc\u015f g\u00f6zlemliyoruz. Bu ameliyat sayesinde hastalar\u0131m\u0131z sosyal hayatlar\u0131na devam ediyor.
