Mahmut Demir, d\u00fcnya g\u00fcre\u015f literat\u00fcr\u00fcne ad\u0131n\u0131 “T\u00fcrk Tank\u0131” olarak yazd\u0131rm\u0131\u015f bir g\u00fcre\u015f\u00e7idir. 1984 y\u0131l\u0131nda g\u00fcre\u015fe ba\u015flayan Demir, Ula\u015ft\u0131rma ve TEDA\u015e Spor Kul\u00fcpleri\u2019nde g\u00fcre\u015f yapt\u0131. G\u00fcre\u015f kariyeri boyunca Alaattin Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m, Nabi Bayram ve Yakup Topuz ile \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Atlanta 1996 Olimpiyat Oyunlar\u0131 finalinde Beyaz Rusyal\u0131 eski olimpiyat \u015fampiyonu Alexander Medvedev\u2019in o\u011flu Aleksei Medvedev\u2019i yenerek serbest g\u00fcre\u015fte 28 y\u0131l aradan sonra T\u00fcrkiye\u2019ye alt\u0131n madalya kazand\u0131rd\u0131. 1993 y\u0131l\u0131nda bu son y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n \u0130ran\u2019da yap\u0131lan cihan \u015fampiyonlu\u011fu unvan\u0131n\u0131 T\u00fcrkiye ad\u0131na bulunduran tek sporcudur. 1997 y\u0131l\u0131nda g\u00fcre\u015fi b\u0131rakt\u0131.
