Modern T\u00fcrkiye tarihinin en \u00f6nemli k\u0131r\u0131lma noktalar\u0131ndan birini te\u015fkil eden 31 Mart \u0130syan\u0131 ve bu isyan\u0131n bast\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 ile birlikte art\u0131k Osmanl\u0131 y\u00f6netiminde bir daha eski usullere geri d\u00f6n\u00fclemeyece\u011fi ve \u0130ttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti\u2019nin g\u00fcc\u00fc ortaya konulmu\u015f oldu.<\/p>\n
Anadolu\u2019da arkeolojik ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar yapmak i\u00e7in yola \u00e7\u0131kan Sir W.M. Ramsay, e\u015fi ve k\u0131z\u0131 ile birlikte bir anda kendilerini imparatorlu\u011fun ba\u015fkentinde tehlikeli bir iktidar oyununun ortas\u0131nda buluverdi. Ramsay ailesi, bu 17 g\u00fcnl\u00fck maceralar\u0131 boyunca \u0130stanbul\u2019un pek \u00e7ok farkl\u0131 yerini ziyaret edip pek \u00e7ok farkl\u0131 ki\u015filerle g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fme imk\u00e2n\u0131 buldu. Bu ziyaretlerinden ve g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fmelerinden edindikleri bilgileri g\u00fcn\u00fc g\u00fcn\u00fcne kaydetti. Daha sonra Sir Ramsay bu notlar\u0131 bir araya getirerek modern T\u00fcrk tarihi i\u00e7in paha bi\u00e7ilemez bir kaynak eser ortaya koydu.
