Sakarya\u2019n\u0131n Sapanca il\u00e7esinde do\u011fan Sofuo\u011flu, \u0130stanbul \u00dcniversitesi Edebiyat Fak\u00fcltesi Tarih B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc Yak\u0131n\u00e7a\u011f Tarihi k\u00fcrs\u00fcs\u00fcnden 1980 y\u0131l\u0131nda mezun oldu. Ayn\u0131 y\u0131l A\u011fustos ay\u0131nda Sakarya Vilayeti Arifiye \u00d6\u011fretmen Lisesi tarih \u00f6\u011fretmenli\u011fine atand\u0131. 1983 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u0130stanbul Teknik \u00dcniversitesi Sakarya Meslek Y\u00fcksekokulunda 1 y\u0131l yar\u0131 zamanl\u0131 olarak Atat\u00fcrk \u0130lkeleri ve \u0130nk\u0131lap Tarihi dersi verdi. 1985 y\u0131l\u0131 \u015eubat d\u00f6neminde Hacettepe \u00dcniversitesi Atat\u00fcrk \u0130lkeleri ve \u0130nk\u0131lap Tarihi Enstit\u00fcs\u00fcnde ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131 y\u00fcksek lisans \u00f6\u011frenimini 1987\u2019de bitirdi.<\/p>\n
1992 y\u0131l\u0131nda tarih \u00f6\u011fretmenli\u011finden Hacettepe \u00dcniversitesi Atat\u00fcrk \u0130lkeleri ve \u0130nk\u0131lap Tarihi Enstit\u00fcs\u00fcne Ara\u015ft\u0131rma G\u00f6revlisi olarak naklen atanan Sofuo\u011flu, doktora \u00f6\u011frenimini ise 1993\u2019te tamamlad\u0131. 1994 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u00d6\u011fretim G\u00f6revlisi oldu. 1998 y\u0131l\u0131nda Do\u00e7ent, 2007 y\u0131l\u0131nda Profes\u00f6r oldu. 1999-2004 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda Bilkent \u00dcniversitesi T\u00fcrkiye Cumhuriyeti Tarihi Birimi\u2019nde yar\u0131 zamanl\u0131 olarak ders verdi. 2004 y\u0131l\u0131 itibar\u0131yla \u00fc\u00e7 y\u0131l s\u00fcreyle Enstit\u00fc M\u00fcd\u00fcr Yard\u0131mc\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131, 2012\u2019den itibaren 4 y\u0131l\u0131 a\u015fk\u0131n s\u00fcreyle Enstit\u00fc M\u00fcd\u00fcrl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc g\u00f6revlerinde bulundu.
