Dr. Yasemin Y\u00fcksel Durmaz farkl\u0131 disiplinlerden profesyonellerin yer ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 bir ekiple projeyi s\u00fcrd\u00fcrd\u00fcklerini s\u00f6yledi. Prof. Ko\u00e7y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m\u2019\u0131n da ekipte yer ald\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 kaydeden Durmaz \u015f\u00f6yle dedi: “Travmatik yaralanmalarda \u00f6l\u00fcmlerin yar\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 kanamaya ba\u011fl\u0131 a\u011f\u0131r hipovalemi olu\u015fturuyor ve genellikle bu durum 2 saatten k\u0131sa bir s\u00fcre i\u00e7erisinde ger\u00e7ekle\u015fiyor. Dolay\u0131s\u0131yla bu s\u00fcre i\u00e7erisinde hastaya g\u00fcvenli ve pratik bir m\u00fcdahaleye olanak sa\u011flayacak bir res\u00fcsitasyon ajan\u0131na ihtiya\u00e7 duyuluyor. Genellikle uygulanan tedavi, kanama sonucu kaybedilen hacmin uygun bir s\u0131v\u0131 ile yerine konmas\u0131 \u015feklinde. E\u011fer bu s\u0131v\u0131 kan ise so\u011fuk zincir ihtiyac\u0131, kan grubu uyumu ve enfeksiyon riski gibi problemler i\u00e7eriyor. Y\u00fcr\u00fctt\u00fc\u011f\u00fcm\u00fcz proje ile s\u00fcr\u00fckleme azalt\u0131c\u0131 polimer kullan\u0131m\u0131yla kan \u00fcr\u00fcnlerinin haz\u0131rlanma maliyeti, potansiyel enfeksiyon riskleri, so\u011fuk zincir ihtiyac\u0131, raf \u00f6mr\u00fc gibi problemlere \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm \u00fcretip hemorajik \u015fok durumunda s\u0131v\u0131 ve kan kullan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 azalt\u0131c\u0131 alternatif bir \u00fcr\u00fcn geli\u015ftirmeyi hedefliyoruz”.<\/p>\n

\u00c7al\u0131\u015ftayda konu\u015fan Prof. Ko\u00e7y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m da biyolojik kan\u0131n belli bir raf \u00f6mr\u00fcne sahip oldu\u011funu, bu sebeple belli bir so\u011fuk zincirde saklanmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini s\u00f6yledi.<\/p>\n
So\u011fuk zincir gerektirmeyen birtak\u0131m sentetik \u00fcr\u00fcnleri kan yerine kullanmak i\u00e7in \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 kaydeden Ko\u00e7y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m \u015f\u00f6yle dedi: “Daha k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck hacimlerde olan, so\u011fukta saklanmas\u0131 gerekmeyen ve son kullanma tarihi olmayan baz\u0131 sentetik \u00fcr\u00fcnleri kan yerine kullanmak i\u00e7in \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131yoruz. Sentetik polimerleri kullanarak kan\u0131n i\u00e7indeki ak\u0131\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131 veya dokulara kan\u0131n oksijen g\u00f6t\u00fcrebilmesini sa\u011flamak m\u00fcmk\u00fcn. Seneler \u00f6nce biyonik insandan bahsediliyordu. Her t\u00fcrl\u00fc fonksiyonunu kaybeden organ\u0131n baz\u0131 mekanik par\u00e7alarla yenilenece\u011fi anlat\u0131l\u0131yordu. 90\u2019l\u0131 y\u0131llarda bu t\u00fcr giri\u015fimler vard\u0131. \u0130ki binli y\u0131llardan sonra da k\u00f6k h\u00fccre \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 ba\u015flad\u0131.
