Ege, Celal Bayar ve \u00c7anakkale Onsekiz Mart \u00fcniversitelerinden bir grup bilim insan\u0131, T\u00fcrkiye ile Yunanistan\u2019da da\u011f\u0131l\u0131\u015f g\u00f6steren ve Osmanl\u0131 Engere\u011fi olarak bilinen y\u0131lan t\u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fcn yeni bir alt t\u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fc Antalya Geyik Da\u011flar\u0131\u2019nda tan\u0131mlad\u0131.<\/p>\n
Ege \u00dcniversitesi (E\u00dc) Rekt\u00f6r\u00fc Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak\u2019\u0131 ziyaret eden E\u00dc Fen Fak\u00fcltesi Biyoloji B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc \u00d6\u011fretim \u00dcyesi Prof. Dr. Din\u00e7er Ayaz, yeni alt t\u00fcr ve \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131na ili\u015fkin bilgi verdi. Y\u00fcr\u00fctt\u00fckleri \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n bilimsel bir dergide yay\u0131mland\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 vurgulayan Prof. Dr. Ayaz, \u201cBu yeni tan\u0131mlanan engere\u011fi, daha \u00f6nce Anadolu engere\u011finin bir alt t\u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fcn tan\u0131mland\u0131\u011f\u0131 Antalya\u2019n\u0131n G\u00fcndo\u011fmu\u015f il\u00e7esinin y\u00fcksek kesimlerinde ke\u015ffettik. Antalya\u2019n\u0131n i\u00e7su ve karasal biyo\u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011finin belirlenmesine y\u00f6nelik proje kapsam\u0131nda tespit edilen bu yeni alt t\u00fcre \u00fclkemizin \u00f6nde gelen herpetologlar\u0131ndan ve \u00c7anakkale Onsekiz Mart \u00dcniversitesi \u00d6\u011fretim \u00dcyesi Prof. Dr. Cemal Varol Tok\u2019a atfen \u2018Varol\u2019un \u015eeritli Engere\u011fi – Montivipera Xanthina Varoli\u2019 ad\u0131 verildi\u201d diye konu\u015ftu.<\/p>\n
D\u00fcnyada yakla\u015f\u0131k 4 bin y\u0131lan t\u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fcn ya\u015fad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yleyen Prof. Dr. Ayaz, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de ise \u00e7o\u011fu zehirsiz 60\u2019a yak\u0131n y\u0131lan t\u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fcn da\u011f\u0131l\u0131m g\u00f6sterdi\u011fine de\u011findi. T\u00fcrkiye\u2019deki zehirli y\u0131lan t\u00fcrlerinin \u00e7o\u011funun Engerekgiller ailesine dahil oldu\u011funu dile getiren Prof. Dr. Ayaz, “Anadolu, 15\u2019i a\u015fk\u0131n engerek t\u00fcr\u00fcne ev sahipli\u011fi yap\u0131yor. Ne yaz\u0131kki engerekler zehirli olmalar\u0131 nedeniyle ge\u00e7mi\u015fte oldu\u011fu gibi g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde de yanl\u0131\u015f anla\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015f t\u00fcrlerdendir. Bu nedenle her y\u0131l bir\u00e7ok engerek kasten veya yanl\u0131\u015fl\u0131kla \u00f6ld\u00fcr\u00fcl\u00fcyor. Bu takson ile birlikte T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de ya\u015fayan endemik s\u00fcr\u00fcngen taksonlar\u0131na bir yenisi daha eklenmi\u015f oldu. Zehirli oldu\u011fu i\u00e7in do\u011fada insanlar taraf\u0131ndan kasten veya yanl\u0131\u015fl\u0131kla \u00f6ld\u00fcr\u00fclmesi nedeniyle \u2018Varol\u2019un \u015eeritli Engere\u011fi\u2019nin pop\u00fclasyonu gelecekte zarar g\u00f6rebilir. \u0130nsanlarla ortak bir besini olmayan ve genellikle yakalanmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131lmad\u0131\u011f\u0131nda insana zarar\u0131 dokunmayan bu yeni y\u0131lan\u0131n, \u00fclkemizin zengin biyolojik \u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011fine dahil olmas\u0131 ve gelecek nesillere aktar\u0131lmas\u0131na \u00f6nem veriyoruz” dedi.<\/p>\n
